It’s no surprise that Canon and Nikon dominate the list and continue to increase their stranglehold on the market of top-end and entry level DSLRs.

It was nice to see the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF1 12.1MP Micro Four-Thirds Camera creep in. It’s an interesting looking camera and I’m intrigued by the thought of having something with that much creative control in a smaller and more portable system.

I have the Sony Alpha A300 - love the built-in image stabilizer and my old Minolta glass.

I shoot with a Nikon D40. It is the first and only camera I have so I guess I'm a Nikon girl. I am however, shopping for another and it's very interesting to see what others are buying. Thanks.

The built in image stabilizers are a major plus for the Sony DSLRs. It's something people should pay attention to. With Nikon and Canon you have to pay extra to get image stabilizer in the lenses.

As a Pentax guy I am a little bummed the k-x didnt make it but the Big 2 are hard to beat. Like Zeev, I love my in body stabilization and I am constantly amazed that Canikon gets away with selling in lens systems.

I am surprised the D3000 beat the D5000 since the D5000 was released first. Price still matters more than video.

It is always so frustrating that the Sony never ranks in these lists.. I am a Sony girl.. I was introduced to it and have never switched.. so I am pretty niave when it comes to discussing this..but Sony is a great camera with some solid lens choices.. But I hear each one of the camera's listed on top is awesome.. :)

I just bought the D40 and I must say I am impressed. I like the feel, even though it is light. I have never used a DSLR before so this is perfect for me to develop my craft with. I don’t mind having to fiddle around with options because I won’t be doing anything professional yet… I don’t know what inconvenience i’m missing out on so I’m more than pleased.

Geez, Canon and Nikon sure rule the roost here. A nice list would be to have a look at the top threee best selling cameras from each manufacturers to give us a better idea of what is happening outside the cabal's reach ;-)
