Hello dearest readers. Welcome to the weekend, and to accompany it here is your digest of news from the photography world over the past week; some of it quirky, some of it odd, and some of it just stuff that you might need to know.
Firmware upgrades
Leica has announced a firmware upgrade for its D-Lux 5. It includes several improvements to the autofocus function, enhanced white balance precision, better noise reduction at higher ISO, and a couple of fun effects, amongst other things.
Nikon has taken the unusual step of updating the firmware of its discontinued CoolPix P7000 enthusiast compact link (2011-12-10 by @Photocritic)

And whilst the D4 specs are out there, it seems as if the D3s isn't long for this world. Nikon Rumours is reporting that it has been listed as 'out-of-production' on a Romanian website.
There's a new Olympus PEN lens out in January. 12-50mm (24-100mm 35mm equivalent) f/3.5-6.3. The spec's here and there are pictures here.
