WINNERS: one of 5 copies of my book!
Right, the winners for the competition have been picked! By deadline, there were 151 competition entries, and I used Random.org to pick the winners.
The winners are:
#2 – ryan97ou
#88 – Luís Brás
#120 – John Jimenez
#116 – Tim Norris
#98 – Aaron Snowden
I’ll e-mail you all as soon as to get your addresses so I can ship the books out to you. CONGRATULATIONS!
Original competition for posterity:
I know I keep harping on about it, but I’m rather proud of this thing – loads of you have already bought the book (just saw the latest report from the publisher – incredible!), but if you fancy winning one completely for free, then here’s your chance!
I’ve got 5 copies to give away completely for free, and I’ll even sign them for you, if you’re interested. To enter, simply add a comment to this post.
The winner will be drawn on May 5th this year, at random from the commenters (so make sure that you’ve entered a working e-mail address so I can contact you to get your mailing address!).
If you’re not sure what to leave a comment about, why not just post a link to your DeviantArt gallery, Flickr profile, or website? I’d love to learn a little more about you lovely people!
As an aside, would you guys be interested in more competitions on Photocritic?

I’d love a copy of the book. Have never done any macro though…
As per your suggestion, here’s my Flickr page. I don’t have much, but hopefully I will have time in the next month to process many more.

Hey, this sounds like a cool idea. I guess I’ll give it a shot. I do want to read your book.
I’d love a copy – just got myself a new 105mm macro lens, so now I just need to learn to use it!!

Let the game begins!
I’m in the the macro frenzy, try to learn as much as I can. I would love to get this book so I can learn even more.
I’d love a copy, and I think I would actually make time to read it as well.
Woo – yes please!
I’d like a copy of that book. I don’t do any macro photography, but I’m keen to learn and have my eye on a lens…
Crossing my fingers
Your book has been on my list of “must buys”, but due to my wife quitting her job to become a stay at home mom for our two daughters, my funds are VERY limited. I recently started uploading to some micro stock sites (hoping to make a little extra income) and found your article on the problems with micro stock and the comments on it informative.
I listed my web site in the reply portion, but my flicker page is http://www.flickr.com/photos/cjmgrafx
I always look forward to updates on your blog, keep up the great work.
I’d love to get into macro photography more than I do.

Hey great contest. ;D
Here my DA gallery: http://eisnexus.deviantart.com/gallery/ Not the best pictures but i am still learning.
Saw your article on DIY macro extension, great idea! Cool example shots too with close up matches. Would love to see more macro shots on your book!
I often take a look at this website but don’t comment… I have recently started my own blog and I know the value of feedback on websites. I don’t do much Macro – mainly cos I have just started out – but would love to learn more…

Would love to have one. Is there a chapter about dead bugs ;?
It would be great to get a copy of this book free. It is on my list of books I need to buy. Right now I am reading the DAM Book, and then it is on some lighting books, then landscapes, and finally this one.
Either way, good luck to all!
I loved the picture on the cover.. Would love to know what’s inside… Am sure I would be able to take a similar picture of high standards once I get to read that book… My fingers crossed for the random draw!

Let’s try the contest ;-)
With so many books on macro photography around and with loads of information on this subject available on the internet, why would I bother to read this book of yours? Anyway, this is just a post — DO NOT COUNT ME INTO THE DRAW –
BTW, did I tell you that I liked many of your postings in this site…Thanks for those.
Long time reader, first time poster. Macro photography is my favorite to look at and shoot. If only I really knew how to do it. lol
Thumbs up to photocritic.org, the only blog which I’ve read all of the posts!
