Canon 60D
I've been using the T1i for a while and like it very much. I was hankering for the fold out LCD in my blog when I got this e-mail:
"I see that you’re lusting after a Canon 60D.
I got one a couple of months ago, and like you was particularly interested in the articulated view screen, which works quite well.
However, after using it for a while I wish that I’d just kept my XSi (which I gave to my nephew) or bought a T2i instead of the 60D.
1) it’s MUCH heaver and poorly balanced compared to the Rebel, 2) the real problem is the interface is really f*?!ed up compared to the Rebel. The buttons on the back all seem counter-intuitive by comparison. I don’t know why they changed it, but it has been a disaster for me, especially the exposure dial."
Anyone have a take on this?

It is heavier, but that, for me, was negligible. I didn't have a balance issue. This also depends on the lens you have attached.
I LOOOOOVE the articulating screen. I love the video quality.
Canon changes the placement of their buttons every few generations, and I guess it is easier for me to work with because I spend about 2 hours going over nothing but button placement (left over habit from my journalism days). I study where they are, and then I try manipulating everything with the camera to my face. It just takes practice.
The next Rebel will probably have similar button placement, if Canon is consistent in how they produce their cameras. (I still have a 20D, and I love the quick dial, which they have reintroduced, and it is on the 60D.)
Thanks Kara. Anyone else want to talk about using their 60D compared to earlier cameras, such as the T1i or is it the TIi - I can't ever remember... anyway I have handled the 60D in the store, and there are many improvements over my T1i.
I'm always dependent on my print sales; so let's see how business is over the next few months. But I think it's in my future.
