About Me

Mark Cleghorn is a photographer with a distinctive style; his images have won hundreds of awards since he started professionally in 1983 including the Kodak European Gold Award 17 times, as well as being awarded 4 Fellowships for his outstanding images. Mark is still a working photographer but most of his time is now spent teaching other photographers through his online training site - PhotoTraining4U, the biggest dedicated training site for photographers in Europe. The site comprises of over 500 films on line with 3 new films added each week, his key skills and use of creative light and direction have influenced photographers across the world through his no nonsense back to basic, real and raw training videos. Mark was one of the first photographers in his field to fully embrace the digital technology in the late 90’s and has not shot film since 2001, his digital workflow methods have been adopted by thousands of photographers and have helped to get them back behind the camera instead of sitting in front of a computer screen. Cleghorn has written books on Lighting, Portraiture and Wedding Photography as well as Photoshop. He has judged photographer’s work in print competition all over the world and is still considered to be one of the major influences of style and technique in the wedding and portrait industry today.
