About Me
Dave Beckerman is a photographer specializing in black-and-white photography of New York City.
(That was once true. For the last few years I've been heavily involved in what I'll call digital color painting. I plan to be writing about this aspect of digital photography more often.)
His Web site BeckermanPhoto.com has been his major income source since December 1999 when his blog and photography store went live.
He was born and raised in the Bronx and set up his first darkroom at 15 years old. After a litany of jobs too depressing to list, including programming and filmmaking, he returned to his love of photography in 1999. Dave's photography career was propelled by the realization that a properly mounted and framed photograph was a finished work of art.
