About Me
After working as a marine biologist, Heather Angel abandoned science for a career as a wildlife photographer and now manages the stock image site Natural Visions. Throughout her childhood, with her RAF father constantly on the move, Heather began her peripatetic life – attending 14 different schools! She has spent a lot of time working in China, producing three books on pandas and two on natural China. Her latest book is Digital Outdoor Photography:101 Top Tips, published by Larks Books. Her great passions are taking mammals, plants and macro subjects as well as writing and tutoring photo workshops.
Major solo exhibitions of Heather’s work have been on show in London as well as in China, India, Malaysia, and Egypt. Her work has been recognised by worldwide honours and since 1994 she has taught part of the MSc course on Biological Imaging as a Visiting Professor at Nottingham University. She was President of the Royal Photographic Society from 1984-86.
Galleries of her work can be seen here, including her Work in Progress – a 5-year project with Kew Gardens looking at floral structure and how it has evolved in conjunction with pollination mechanisms.
