About Me

Rebekka Guðleifsdóttir is an Icelandic visual artist and photographer. While her photo projects span a wide range, from scenic renditions of her native country's landscapes and horses, to intricately staged scenarios employing props she creates herself, she is perhaps best known for her self-portraits.

Since first gaining recognition on Flickr.com in 2005, she has been mentioned in such media as the Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Observer, Playboy Spain, BBC radio, Der Spiegel and Amateur Photography magazine, to name a few.

While having dabbled in various photographic assignments, the most prominent being an ad-campaign for Toyota in 2006, she prefers to approach photography solely as an artform.

She lives in Hafnarfjörður, Iceland with her two sons.
