About Me
Hey folks, I'm Sean McCormack. I live in Galway in the West of Ireland, halfway between Connemara and The Burren. I've been self employed for over 15 years and my income is based on a mix of photography and sound engineering. I also write about photography and software, not to mention the plugins I make for Lightroom (over at LRB Plugins). My book on Lightroom 'Photoshop Lightroom 2 Made Easy' is still for sale, albeit a little out of date. The Amazon UK site has loads of good reviews of it.
While my location is great for landscape photography, I equally love people photography, especially fashion. I also shoot bands and actors. I'm one of the freelancers for local paper 'The Galway Independent'.
I've been shooting for over 10 years and started on film. I still shoot film today, mostly on a Mamiya 645J. I'm a Canon user, but don't hold that against me. Currently my main body is the 5DII, with a 7D for backup. I've a 40D also, along with an infrared converted 400D.
I'm an Adobe Community Professional for Lightroom, and I'm one of the Moderators on Adobe's Community Help for Lightroom. I've been with Lightroom since the first Public Beta in 2006, and was invited to test the prelease of version 1.0. Lightroom Blog (even as part of Pixiq) is one of the longest running blogs for Lightroom, starting in August 2006. Finally I'm the Lightroom Master for online training site Phototraining4U.com, where I do monthly training videos on Lightroom and related software.
