About Me

I primarily, right now, primarily do night photography. More or less because I'm a fan of long-exposure and the benefits that can be had from the process; blending movement with still life in a frame can be magic.

Until I can afford say, a $140 dollar ND400 filter (and probably a new camera), I'm going to work at night. This may be a while.

I've had a number of incidents with police because of my night photography. I've been detained for over an hour on one occaision,

I want to make something clear, here: I don't want to have any problems with cops. I want to be left alone. The more time I have to spend talking to them, the more I can't do what I set out to do on a particular night.

Because of all the hassle I've been given, I'm having to buy a standalone video camera to document these encounters, to protect myself against liability and create some form of accountibility. Buying a video camera unfortunately also means more taken away from what I've set out to do, resource wise; the more money I have to spend on things other than photographic equipment, the less I can put to the photography itself. This really pisses me off. However, I also don't want a police officer to be able to say things against me that aren't true.

Liberty is a foreign concept to almost everyone. This above all other things, makes me sad.
